This month, we kicked off our involvement in the Digital Twin Adoption Accelerator, visited Frankfurt for the Formnext exhibition to explore the latest in additive manufacturing, and welcomed local MPs on-site to showcase our work and discuss future opportunities for council and government support. Digital Twin kick-off event
We were delighted to attend the Digital Twin Adoption Accelerator kick-off event this week. It was a great opportunity to meet the Digital Catapult team and connect with the other participating organisations. Seeing their lab facilities and offices firsthand gave us a deeper appreciation of the resources and expertise behind the programme, and it’s energising to be part of a community so committed to advancing digital innovation.
The event also reinforced our excitement about the journey ahead. Having recently been awarded funding through the Accelerator, we’re looking forward to accelerating our digital twin capabilities linking real-time production and testing data with virtual models to drive smarter decision-making, improved efficiency, and more sustainable operations. We’re equally pleased to be partnering with Blow Moulding Technologies to co-develop and trial a best-in-class digital twin. This collaboration highlights the strength of our regional ecosystem and brings us one step closer to delivering scalable, real-world impact for NI manufacturing.
Formnext Exhibition
This month, our team had a fantastic experience attending the Formnext exhibition in Frankfurt. The event showcased some of the most advanced developments in additive manufacturing, giving us the opportunity to explore emerging technologies and gain insight into the innovations shaping the future of 3D printing. It was an inspiring environment that allowed us to see firsthand how the industry continues to evolve at pace.
Formnext also provided a valuable platform for strengthening supplier relationships and expanding our network within the 3D printing community. Our team engaged in productive discussions with existing partners and connected with new potential collaborators, helping us identify opportunities that may support future projects and capability growth. Overall, the visit proved highly beneficial, offering both fresh perspectives and momentum as we continue to develop our presence in the additive manufacturing space.
Great support and engagement from local MPs
We were delighted to welcome members of our local MPs for a site visit this month. It was a great opportunity to showcase the work currently underway across our teams and give an inside look at the progress we’re making in key areas of innovation. By seeing our facilities and projects firsthand, they gained a clearer understanding of the impact we could have within the region and the importance of continued investment in local industry.
The visit also provided a valuable platform to discuss the exciting opportunities we have on the horizon and to explore where additional support from the council and government could help accelerate our ambitions. From upcoming technology developments to new collaborative partnerships, we outlined how strategic backing could enhance our capacity for growth, skills development, and wider economic impact. Overall, it was an engaging and productive visit, and we look forward to continuing these conversations as we work together to strengthen regional innovation.
