Simple Scaling ScaleX Accelerator Programme 2024
Our founder Peter Gilleece has completed the Simple Scaling ScaleX Accelerator Programme 2024. This programme started in January and looked at all aspects of your business from leadership, team building to scaling and managing growth. The personal development Peter experienced throughout was focused on how to build on a positive mindset and foster a positive growth culture. Vikela has gone through the Scale x journey over the past year taking great learnings and driving us to continue to push boundaries and look forward to the future.
Thanks to Claire Colvin and Brendan McGurgan and all the Simple Scaling team for your support this year, we can’t wait to see what 2025 has to offer.
Team Christmas Dinner 2024
The Vikela team got into the festive spirit this week with our Christmas party, and what a night it was! In typical Vikela fashion it wasn’t a normal Christmas party but a Christmas themed murder mystery night ‘Who killed Santa’ at APPM Belfast 🎄
It was great to step away from the office, have some fun and celebrate the year’s achievements, and spend some quality time together with our team and supporters.
The Connected Competitive Fund
We are delighted to have been successful in our application to improve our existing testing facilities. Funding is from the Connected Competitive Fund and will be carried out in collaboration with NITC and Belfast MET. The funds’ goal is to support of Knowledge Transfer projects that are focused primarily on engaging with Northern Ireland registered SMEs that have the potential and willingness to be moved further along the innovation escalator. We are excited to start work on this project which will improve on our current in-house stab and knife testing facilities and be finished in 2025.

Delighted for our founder Peter to have been featured on the Business Eye Live podcast with Richard Buckley / Business Eye . It was a fantastic opportunity to share the story of how Vikela started and what makes our products different tin the marketplace. He was happy to share his experience of winning the Business Eye Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and how he wants to encourage entrepreneurship in young people.

ADS NI Annual Members Reception
Our team had a brilliant time attending the ADS Group Ltd NI Annual Members Reception in Stormont, Parliament Buildings. Hearing from some fantastic speakers including, from ADS and industry leading companies. It was a brilliant opportunity to engage, network and reflect on Northern Irelands successes within Aerospace, Defence, Security and Space.
